The Days of European Film will present the winner of this year’s 2026 LUX Audience Award, Deaf, on Wednesday 13 May at Kampus Hybernská. The screening will be followed by a discussion with a guest from the Institute for Deaf Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University.

Directed by Eva Libertad, the film follows a deaf woman expecting a child with her hearing partner. It focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, the first months with a baby, and everyday communication at home and beyond, showing how much depends on whether people truly understand one another.

The screening will take place at Kampus Hybernská, which regularly hosts cultural events and discussions for students and the wider public. We will screen the film on Wednesday 13 May from 19:00 in the E.-1 Sklep space. Admission is free.
