When Your Own Body Becomes a Problem

April 13, 2026

Sometimes your body is not something you take for granted, but an obstacle on the way to feeling at ease in your own life. Not because of illness, but because of how you see it – and how others see it. A few looks, a few remarks, a moment of comparison is enough.

The film Weightless follows a fifteen-year-old girl who arrives at a summer health camp and tries to fit in. It is not an exceptional story, but a situation many people will recognise in one form or another. The need to belong, uncertainty, the pressure of others that gradually becomes part of everyday life.

After the Wednesday screening at Kino Art, a discussion will follow with Kateřina Cajthamlová, who has long focused on the relationship between body, nutrition and mental health. She combines clinical experience with an engaging way of speaking, bringing clarity and perspective to a demanding topic.

The discussion will build on specific situations from the film and address themes it raises: body image, eating habits, and why changing one’s lifestyle is not simply a matter of willpower.

The debate draws on practical experience and will include space for audience questions. Moderated by Sabina Vosecká.
